    The Solid Waste Department offers a variety of services for Madison County residential and commercial customers. In accordance with Idaho Code and County policies, our goal is to provide professional service with regard to public safety, essential service and the responsible management of public assets for the common well-being of our citizens. We will continue to take steps to achieve an innovative, cost effective department the County can be proud of, committed to a high quality and excellence in public service. We must maintain customer focus, be accountable, be part of the County team, communicate and be professional at all times.

    Madison County Transfer station accepts the following:

    Household waste
    Municipal solid waste
    Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners
    White goods (washers, dryers, water heaters, ranges)
    Old tires
    Old batteries
    Computers, TV's, Radios, all electronics
    Newspaper
    As of January 1st 2011 we will no longer accept “Burn Barrels”.

    Prices at the transfer station are:

    $80.00 per ton ($.04 per pound)
    $20.00 plus weight anything containing freon

    Tires:

    • Car/Pickup Tire without a Rim $4.00 with a rim its $6.00
    • Semi Tires $30.00 and $45.00 with rims
    • Farm Equipment $50.00 with rim $75.00
    • Heavy Equipment $100.00 $175.00
    • Mixed loads containing tires will be weight plus above cost
    • Loads of only tires will be charged per tire

    The transfer station CANNOT accept any liquids of any kind, or any hazardous materials of any kind.


    CONSTRUCTION-DEMOLITION PIT

    Madison County C& D site which is the Non-Municipal site accepts debris material from any building, construction, or demolition; this includes debris from roads and bridges.
    Asbestos inspections required on demolition projects,
    Large demolition projects require pre approval from the solid waste manager.

    Waste from these are:

    Cement
    Sheetrock
    Wood
    Insulation
    Metals

    The C & D site also accepts agricultural waste, which includes:

    Old hay
    Straw
    Dead Animals
    Yard debris – grass, trees, tree limbs, and garden cleanup.

    NO LIQUIDS OR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
    NO HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE, TRASH BAGS, BURN BARRELS, NO CARPET, NO FURNITURE, CLOTHES, SHOES, LOOSE PAPER
    NO SLAUGHTER HOUSE WASTE,
    NO BUTCHER WASTE.

    Prices at the C & D site are charged by the vehicle:
